Not a whole lot to say about this one...

This close to the end, there's a feeling that anything can happen to anyone, so the drama of it kept me engaged. ( Spoilers )

I liked it, in large part, I think, because I kept expecting people to be nastier to each other than they proved to be; and things still ended poorly. And that's really how life can be. The ending, especially, was chilling ( spoilers )

My reaction to this ep was a lot like last week's - there was an interesting story here, it just didn't hold together for me.

Maybe if I really tried, I could understand the A and B plots as poignant counterpoints, different explorations of the theme of… urg, I really couldn’t figure out the theme, and maybe that was my problem.

I'm sure that, if I give it some thought, I'd be able to find holes in this episode. There's something probably deeply wrong with the love triangle aspect; if the medical stuff wasn't bunk I'd be surprised.

But, yk, I loved "Hope". There's really not more to say. (I may do a rewatch recap later if I have time.)

This was, I think, about 85% of a good episode. I liked the character arc of the visiting scientist - he rang very true. And I didn't really mind the Camille-Ron show, though I can't say I've ever lost sleep over their relationship (or lack thereof).

Oh, and Rush OWNED his scenes.

Of course I watched 2x11, "Deliverance (Part 2)," but found myself not caring. Yay, they'd figured out they either had to kill Chloe or cure her, and went with cure! Oh, and there was a space battle. (There was a space battle, right?) 'Twasn't an episode that stuck, ikywim ( Read more... )
